How do i know which size of fuel filter to get?

I bought my car with a summit race fuel filter installed already. And i dont know what size the inlet or outlet are on it.How do i know which size of fuel filter to get?Most after market inline filters are the same size. The easiest way to make sure you get the right part is take it off and take it in to the parts store.
