How to get off Fuel filter quick disconnect.?

I have a 99 Grand Am and It has a supposedly quick connector that is black and has 4 prongs. In a manual it says to squeeze it and the line will disconnect. I can move it toward the filter and back some but its covering metal so there isn't room to squeeze even. I tried to get it off for an hour. How do you get it off? Anyone who has before any advice?How to get off Fuel filter quick disconnect.?Not exactly sure, but I know the newer Harley's have a quick disconnect. They actually have a collar, similar to that on an air hose. You just slide the fitting back and it disconnects. It's worth a try.
