But relieving the potential pressure is best done by slowly cracking the line loose and holding a rag around the line at the same time to catch any spray. Not much on a Nissan, but better safe than sorry. And, most importantly of all, no smoking!! Take the fuel filler cap off to make sure there is no pressure in the tank that will push more fuel through the lines when they are loose too.
