How do I remove a fuel Filter for a Ford?
I Have a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport 2 Door 4.0 LT I got the tool to disconnect the lines for the fuel filter but i still cant remove it. what the hell am I doing wrong ? I am old school. You will see two metal tubes go into a larger metal tube. The large one is your fuel filter. Get two line wrenches to fit the two nuts and loosen the nuts. Put a bucket under it because there is going to be residual fuel in the line when you disconect it. Take out the old one and tighten the new one in. Replace any brackets that held the old filter in. It may take a second for your car to start afterwards because the lines need to be primed again. I went to put a new fuel filter on my 1992 civic. I got the old one off, and the flared fitting was kind of hard to pull off. I bought a purolator filter, and I can't get the flared fitting to go all the way back in.. It goes in some, and no matter how hard I push it, it won't go in... Is there a trick to this I'm unaware of. ThanksHow come I can't get the new fuel filter on?do the bottom flared part first, then the top.just make sure you dont coss thread it. its a pain sometimes.How come I can't get the new fuel filter on?make sure you have the right filter.
