How do you remove a Nissian 2002 extara's fuel filter?

I already know where the fuel filter is I just need to know how to remove it.......How do you remove a Nissian 2002 extara's fuel filter?According to the manuals, it looks like a screw clamp or a spring clamp, but I know it is rarely these ones (I don't know why the pictures show these). Most likely it has a release like the pressure fittings from plastic joints in house plumbing. The collar needs to be pulled (or pushed) from it's position, then it just pulls off. One thing that might be keeping it there is the fuel line pressure. Make sure to pull the fuse or the wire to the fuel pump then start the car until it stalls out.. this will take most of the pressure off those lines (and the release mechanism). After install, they should push on and not pull off.

After eliminating the fuel line pressure, push the fuel line toward the filter first, this should loosen things up (and sometimes release it on its own).
