How do you change the fuel filter on a 1999 mazda truck w/ 3.0 litre engine?
Have gotten the fuel filter almost off. On the end closest to the engine, diengaged the quick connect fitting and the filter came out on that side, but the end closest to the tank has a metal coupling on it which i cannot figure out. This is the location of the fuel filter in my '95 Jeep Wrangler. The view is from the back, driver's side. The best way to get to the fuel filter is to get under the Jeep from in front of the back driver's side tire. It is mounted on the inside of the frame.
You will have to loosen the straps buy using a flat head screw driver on both sides of the fuel filter. Unscrew the strap in the middle holding the filter to the frame. Once the straps are loose, get out the the way, because some gas will leak when you pull the filter out. Pull the tubes off of each side of the fuel filter and replace it with a new one.

It cant be changed without it. place the tool facing the round coupler on the plastic line, push the line towards the tool, the tool should slide in the round coupler and release a spring conneting device. After you Have completed this pull the tool and line off and repeat for the other side. The line will have fuel under pressure in it so be careful as not to ahve a light close by that could fall and cause a fire and burn you. But in general, just find the old one, take it out, and put the new one in making sure you've got the flow going in the proper direction. Pretty simple and hard to screw up.

The guy told me it will be 700-something....that seems kinda high to me.
